Turn west on North Marina drive.
Drive slowly past the houses, and wave to people watering their lawns.
Continue after the pavement ends. Turn stereo up.
Drive between the humps. (.. you'll see).
Road meanders right a little, left a little, right some more, and heads northwest ish. Pull up next to other XJ's and camp.

Come out and wheel. Or sit in camp and drink beer.

I've got a big group of family and friends heading out that way for a spring bloom trip any how that weekend, planned it not knowing about this Jambo. I'm sure we'll stop in and say hello. We've got a couple people that need the extra incentive to get their own XJ's, nothing better than a giant group of done-up XJ's to tease those who don't own on, YET!

If anyone wants customizable directions, I've got a Google map setup. If you don't know what means, this is for you:

1. Go to: http://tinyurl.com/truckhavencamp
2. Click once on the blue flag/dot. A bubble will pop up with the GPS Coordinates (for those of you with them, just use these coordinates)
3. Click the link "Directions" in the bubble window.
4. On the left hand side of your screen in the green "A" box, type your home address.
5. Click "Get Directions" and you are Done!

These may not be the BEST directions to Truckhaven, and the final destination may not be 100% exact but it will get you in the general area of Truckhaven. Pretty sure this spot is the location of the past Jambo Truckhaven Camp.

Just a quick note on the Jamboree. Everyone is welcome. If you haven't been to Truckhaven, it's dry camping, no hook-ups. There are no fees for the event or to stay. Come one, come all. Stock to heavily modified. Proper tow/recovery points required for runs.

Saturday the 27th is THE big day for runs. If you can only make it for a day, come on Saturday morning.

ha! Just got done removing the fender hardware...every single bolt broke. So now the debate begins on whether to get new hardware, leave it flareless or get some other type (Fiberglass or Bushwacker).

If you get the proper sized socket and a punch the old bolts will pop right out of the strips. Then you can just tack new ones on.

We got them installed, but there was a bit of a gap. The wires were secured with electrical tape for the time being.

Haha yea, side x side @ 65 sliding through a berm felt all initial D style.
Motor mounts turned out ok, we couldn't get rid of the gap, so the engine can slide up to 3/8" forward... it hasn't yet. However I'm leaking gear oil like a SIB out of my tailcone. Not sure if it's because of the broken motor mounts or because the engine/trans is too far back now (it shouldn't be this) but I get to take my tailcone off, AGAIN and most likely replace seals. Such is life I suppose...

I was gonna contact you back channel, but yea the mounts are too narrow. Not sure if they varied from year to year or not. I'm SUPER grateful you were out there, they still worked bitchin to get me home! I'll hit you up and send some pictures off your way. And eventually get it down to your pad so you can get some measurements.

Uh oh, did the leak start after the mount change? Did you deform the oil pan jacking it up? I did that once, it likes to leak right near the rear main area. or is this unrelated?

I don't think it was from the jack. It's definitely gear oil from the rear tailcone section of the trans. I'm not sure if my yoke pushed too far forward and damaged a seal or what. I gotta get the tailcone off and check out the seals.

It was from the motor mounts. Whenever you allow the engine to move forward and back like that, its bound to start leaking...

I am really glad a lot of you made it out there. It was a great weekend, and I think Kevin or Josh counted 36 rigs at one point. Kids, dogs, and (sort of) adults all playing together, and having a great time.

Eddie was laying around camp Sunday (in between us doing mini runs), with the nod nodd noddd zzzz thing going on. Cracks me up to watch a dog nod off while trying to keep his head up & pretend to be awake.
