Hey guys I was out this weekend and bent up my tailpipe pretty good its all stock exhaust has anyone ever ran a cherry bomb glass pack on a xj? Im thinking they are just so thin i can tuck it way up out of the way so i dont get hung up on it.

I have a Flowmaster with a dumpout on my ride. I tried a bomb on one of my old XJ's but it seemed to raspy to me.

They don't last long.. Cherry Bomb makes mufflers too.. I've got one of thier thrust mufflers on my 89.. It works.. for $25 bux it will do.. When it stays on.. haha!

Everything falls off Daves jeep, i think its on Jenny Craig or something. His front driver side wheel came right off last year in Payette Draw. Everything just fell apart....

my exhaust fell off too if you remember correctly.. then my starter... and the cap to my Jim beam bottle, and I think I fell off the trailer once or twice on one of the nights too...

stock exhaust is best IMO that way you can hear your spotter

Thanks for all the imput guys! I will try it just for the simple fact that if it is to loud and annoying I can bolt back on my stock stuff untill i completly rip it off on rocks.

I have a glass pack on my '88 I-6 and once I have the money I think it's coming off. It was cheap, never in the way, but louder than my Iroks which are loud. It gets old driving out to the trail. Between the tires and exhaust, I hate how loud my XJ is. Or I'm just getting old.

yes! stock or low noise is great. it avoids:

rumble rumble rumble
"ok, nice and slow"
rumble rumble rumble
"huh? I can't here you!?"
rumble rumble rumble
"i said nice and slow!"
rumble rumble rumble
"gas it and go? ok!
WWAAAAHHHH! - SMASH!

"i said nice and slow ya fool, put a quieter exhaust on the next one."

agreed... high flow loud exhaust is a bad thing. Id rather bend up stock mufflers then have a loud exhaust.

I like Flowmaster more for the fact that you can lay your rig on it with almost no worries.

I still have the stock exhaust on my '99 but thats what I was thinking of switching to.
I grew out of my glass pack stage when I got my 1st set of series 40 Flowmasters for the Nova I had. Just got tired of the noise.
