longer yj cables

Well, I just got my yj brake cables today and before I install them I wanted to compare them to my current e-brake cables. I put them side by side, and noticed that the spring on the axle end is a bit longer that the old ones. The springs on the old ones are 5 1/2" and the yj's are 6 1/4". Will this cause any problems? I was thinking I may need shorten the spring about 3/4" or so. I ordered the right rear brake cables for a 95yj and they are going on my D44 is that matters.
