pushing my t case and tranny up....

Ok, I am currently sitting at 8 inches of lift with tom woods driveshafts front and rear and an SYE. I am running the stock crossmember and thats it. obviously my t case is just a nut waiting to crack, so I am shopping around for protection.

I was wondering if it is possible to just use some flat steel and push the tranny and t case up a couple of inches, i.e. like they do on TJ's.

Or do have have a suggestion on the best crossmember skid for the money.

Thanks

flat, unsupported steel will flop around like a wet noodle.

i used 2x6 and clocked the t-case. the tranny mount is set into the 2x6 by about 1" so the studs/nuts dont get mangled on rocks. this pushed the bottom of the t-case up significantly. some floor massaging was required however.

don't mind the desperately leaky t-case
