Brake Lights Inop

i went mudding on sunday, then i knoticed my brake lights dont work.

my turn signals work and when i turn on my headlights, my tail lights light up

i replaced my brake light switch...still dosent work

91 5 speed xj.....help please!:bawl:

May be a silly question, but I'll ask it anyway: did you test the sockets for power and grounds?

the bulbs are ok, and i have no power going to the bulbs

On my 91 there is a separate small wire on the battery with an inline fuse that powers the brake lights independent of everything else. I've had that come loose a couple of times.

You have to check for power at the brake light switch.
