Someone had to have a couples of carnages!! post what you had over the weekend!

to start with, here's mine...

-2 left side Dana turdy-five axle shaft which in result a 8.25C swap in the campground
-one wheel's lugstud holes enlargened and kept losing nuts (I actually lost the tire, it rolled for about 50 yards away)
-transmission fluid loss, not sure where its leaking from but i think its leaking from the input shaft seal.

Or leave it that way, it sounds bad ass.

I had to rebuild a hub before the trail run or I would have lost a wheel. Other than that I have a bunch of new clunking to track down.......

Oh yea somehow I busted out my front passenger side blinker, I will never be able to drive it on the road again.

Lots of clunking from the UCA bushings.

Popping steering box.

T'case is not happy. It's either the chain or the output bearing.

XJ Tess: Lost her side mirror. The exhaust hanger ripped a hole in the exhaust. Time to remove her fender flares before they take the fender with them. All kinds of new sounds. T-case leakeage.

My rig: New dent above the passenger door. Should prolly invest in HD Offroad engineering (http://www.hdoffroadengineering.com/) roof sliders. Cant open the rear door as good anymore.

Not much carnage Jeeps ran very well.

Lost a rear coil on Friday, then had the truck slip off of a scissor jack (bit me a little bit) and then fell off the hi-lift after I got the wheel off. Fortunately nobody was injured and eventually we got it fixed with the help of a Badlands park patrol guy who was passing through.

Sunday I got my exhaust all bent up, hacked it off in front of the rear axle and tied it up with a wire, and then the wire broke. Then when I was loading it on the trailer I noticed one of my front axle-side LCA mounts is hosed.

Other than that just dinging up the body a little.

Small dent in front bumper.**Tranny overheating, wouldn't hit past 2000rpm until it cooled down again.**Motor mounts are beat. Clutch fan is hitting the shroud under heavy load.**Probably some new scratches but that doesn't matter.**Really, nothing to complain about. Just stuff to fix.

-Ripped the exhaust off the downpipe and smashed the tailpipe, then tore a hole in the fuel line from the filter to the tank

Wait for it . . .

-Ripped the exhaust off the downpipe and smashed the muffler, then tore a hole in the fuel line from the filter to the tank

-Popped the rear driveshaft u-joint on rockface thanks to some axle wrap that has also done a little flattening to the passenger leaf, which was most quickly replaced thanks to everyone there, including the $200 u-joint I got for free from the rough country boys.

Big thanks to Brian from HD Offroad for the ride to the quarry and getting greasy on a u-joint

Other than that, very pleased. The heep goes where you point it.

Lets see. Thursday I had a clip come off a cap on the front axleshaft. So I drove back to camp and replaced with a very used axleshaft. Wheeled on that most of Friday and replaced that one with one Tyler was nice enough to give up. Broke a tailight on orange due to backing up into a tree. Saturday, I don't think I broke anything.

since i sold the truck i used the baby jeep to tow the popcamper back yesterday (after I wiped, swept, and mopped it out) to its storage location (it was borrowed from a buddy). while driving there i started smelling brakes. After the 15 mile drive the front brakes were smoking when we got there.

I drove it back home after dropping the trailer off. The brakes were stuck at some points so back i was wailing on the Jeep to get it to move. It was down shifting into 2nd to hold 35mph.

Got it home. Both front calipers were showing signs of being seized up. I replaced them both with used units I had in the garage. Haven't taken it for a test drive yet...also looks like the valve cover is leaking...

Not sure I blame the wheelin from winterfest, but its a carnage i found after :)

I think that it sitting in the garage for a year waiting on floorboards may have been a part of it...

might want to wory about it sooner rahter than later. It sucks when you have to pound the door sill back out so your door opens and closes kind of normally.

Take a look at revs poo pipe solution, that's likely what's going to happen to the MJ.

Beating on your rockers affects the rest of the door opening. If you trash them, you'll have headaches later when you think it'll be easy to just replace them.

Josh is 100% right. I have the 2x6 3/16" rockers now, but I actually came down on my old sliders so hard it pushed them up into the rusty rockers and it was so tight that my door drug on the bottom when trying to open them. Some creative work w/ a welder, u-bolts, a winch, a grinder, lots of flapper and cut off wheels and a BFH and countless hours got everything back in line so I could weld in the current set up. Way more work then I really wanted to put into it...:gee:

My Grand had the plastic covers over the rocker panels, and after the last time out they still looked fine. I pulled them off anyway and the metal rocker underneath is pretty banged up. Pinch seam is still in decent shape though.

I need to take care of it before it gets worse. Sounds like replacing the rocker altogether is much preferred to bolting a slider underneath it?

if they've already been dented you'll never get a prefabbed slider to fit right, not without a crap ton of work anyway.

Besides, why lose the clearance? Just cut them out. It's not like your ZJ is in perfect shape.
