Hi Guys!

A fellow trout bum just had some work done on his 98 XJ Sport and the mechanic was check driving it - and totaled it on a post when he slid on some ice!
No one hurt, so that's good.

He's in the market now for a 1998 or newer XJ, 4 dr., 4wd, reasonable miles and condition. He's in northern Michigan but is willing to travel for the right XJ. He has family in LR, Arkansas, near Atlanta, Georgia and Phoenix as well. No rust would be novel!

We were standing there looking at the crumpled front end and he said, "Man, I love this car! I wanted to keep it forever!"

Any help would be, well, most helpful!

Brian

Oh yeah, probably going to be parting this thing out before long!

Well, no physical injuries. the mechanic owns his own place and does a great job, he was looking plenty hurt! Said it's the first time in 30 years he's had any kind of accident with a customer's ride. Handed his keys to my buddy and said to keep it as long as he needed it. I know he'll make it right, but you know how it is when you've been building on something for 8 years.

Yes! I live just about 10 miles west of town & my friend is maybe 6 miles east of me.

Trustworthy folks like that are sort of in short supply these days.

Aside from flying runs, I haven't been through Gaylord in years. Dad used to sell beef cattle at the auction years ago. That closed some 20 years ago.

I am on CL all the time for Northern MI and I will keep my eye out. What is your friends price range?

I wish I could help but I can't read more than three words without looking at the pic in your avatar

Thanks!!

The mechanic is replacing it, so not sure, but whatever market prices are now. He will be fair, but not a high-roller by any means.

I'm glad to know that there are fellow art patrons on NAXJA!!
