Well, As I headed in to Manhattan to go to work this morning, they were working on pulling the Intrepid out of her slip. I thought that it would be the last time I saw her for a couple years. Much to my surprise, one of my co-workers in the newsroom laughed and said the Intrepid is stuck in the Hudson river. I assumed it was en route and ran aground some where. Nope. Didn't even get 15 feet. Needless to say, she was still at the pier when I went home this evening.
Now I know many on the Left would love to blame this on President Bush during this election time. Good luck.
I lay the blame with Hillary:
"A group of political dignitaries gathered at an adjacent pier to mark the day's sendoff, including last-minute campaigner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y"
Go figure. Democrats having anything to do with the Military will usually get you mired down. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Don't forget to smile and have a nice day

Well there you go. Proof positive right coasters can't even navigate from the dock. Sheesh, give me a break, it moved 25 feet before going aground? Sounds like Bush's policy of ignorance is getting around. :D
Those folks need to get the sack, just like in the Navy. Throw GW in for extra good measure. You just KNOW Hillary was there just to see them screw the pooch. :D
Now out here, we take something like the Midway, pluck it out from the other 30 odd mothballs on the Bay without mishap, tow it 500 some odd miles down the coast around Pt Conception and park it with precision at the shipyard dock on Carrier Row at North Island.
Oh, and we left out the dignitaries. :D

Yeah, I worked around the mothball fleet in the bay years ago. Big difference between the two situations. :)
