Their contact information:
Blair Built Performance
4454 Edison Ave
Colorado Springs, CO 80915
(719) 574-2524
It appears their website dues were not paid in time and someone else bought their web address, bummer for them...
By the way, from my old research, their kits utilize an Eaton M62 supercharger with a modified Laminova intercooler. If you can't get a hold of Blair Built, try contacting Eaton and Laminova with questions.
Hope this helps...

Interesting! Remember the Rimmer Eaton M62 supercharger that used to cause all kinds of detonation problems? Maybe Mr. Rimmer is trading again under another name. I don't know if he's addressed the problems though. This was his old address:
Rimmer Engineering
940 Motor City Dr.

And he isn't affiliated with Avenger?
Thats weird how they are both out of CS.

Isn't the m62 a bit small for a 4.0?
I thought the m90 was a better fit...
I've considered using the m62 mercedez benz only because of the electric clutch.

I have a link somewhere to a page where a guy put an M62 on a DOHC toyota (5M I think?) and was running somewhere in the neighborhood of 16psi and was pushing 300hp out of it...
I'll see if I can find it again...

How long ago was this Dyno? I can't say I've ever heard of him.

They were into Land Rover Defenders, mostly.
Hence, expensive, and way before their time.

any mounting ideas?

any mounting ideas? The kits tend to situate the compressor above the intake runners and work the belt through in that area. The problem with this is that it immediately requires cutting through your hood. For some this isn't a problem, but if I were to do this, I'd be fabbing up a mount on the other side of the engine and using the air conditioner / idler location. Someone on here welded up a bracket and mounted theirs in this location and then ran intake tubing around the rear of the engine bay into the TB.
Just a thought...

I though of that too but this guy took away the ac compressor , I need ac so i was thinking of mountinf the SC on top of the AC compressor (has 4 bolts) but i really dont know if cant can handle the weight and the stress.
I dnt really mind cutting the hood but i dont want it to be on top of the manifold to minimize heat. http://image55.webshots.com/55/8/80/66/504488066wQdgQP_fs.jpg

Hears what i dont get. The XJ is a very popular vechile. Why doesnt some company put some time and effort into a kit that will work and we wont have to do shit like cutting the hood. If Avenger superchargers was smart, the simplest thing that could do is atleast produce a hood to go along with thier kit. And get the smallest Bump Possible. Or Avenger or Blair Or Kenny Bell could do the right thing and just Make a quality New Intake Manifold. Yes it would bring the price of their kit up but I know i would still buy it. Thier is not a single Company that makes a quality Kit. Hell ill go down the Dam List (in no Praticular Order)
1.XJ-Armor= First off its a centrifical Supercharger. Last time i checked my XJ hats to rev hi. So thats strike one. Second you have to remove your A/C. Not sure about you guys but i live in LasVegas. Its XXXXing hot. Thiers no god dam why i am ever getting rid of my A/C. No matter hove much more horse Power i will get.
2.KenneBell= They dont even make a kit for us. I emailed on more then once on if they can tune a XJ Computer if i where to get a different SC. Never Emailed me Back. Emailed them again asking if, With some fabing i could take their TJ kit to my XJ. They said No. Just NO. KenneBell would Make TONS OF MONEY. If they would make Thier kit work with the XJ. Thier Loss. Oh almost Forgot. That going to have the same hood clearance issues as the Avenger does.
3.Avenger SuperCharger= Thiers no tuning to the kit. I dont like adding boost and not having something to help the computer out. I think all they do is add another injector or something. I wish i could get more details but thier site is down and when it was up. Really didnt get into deep details about thier kit. Before i drop a HUGE chunk of change on a kit. I want to know everythign about it. And lets not forget the Hood Probelms. Lets just cut a huge freaking hole in the hood. Again im not sure about you guys but in vegas its dusty, dirty and rains every so often. I dont want a gaint hood scoop on my XJ. Thats not the look i am going for and i can probly guess thats not the look alot of other Fellow XJ owners are going for too.
4.BlairBuilt= Now i dont know much about this company. But the use a M62 instead of a M90 Eaton Supercharger. Thats good and bad. Its good cause thier kit for the TJ's. Doesnt some with a body lift like the kennebell kit. So who knows im might now have hood clearance issues. I highly dought it but it would have the smallist Hood Dent/Scoop/Bugle out of the Postive Displacment SuperChargers. But thiers a bad Part. Me personally one day my XJ will be a Supercharged 4.6L. I dont care how much money it takes me, (or who long cuz its gonna take time). The M62 is only good for up to 4.0L. So once you start Strokeing the motor(i know i laughted too). That supercharger just wont be able to keep up. Also thier dam site is down and gone. At least the Avenger Site has a Page saying the site is being overhauled. I dont see anything for Blair. Hell i dont see them returning at all.
5.Hesco= Now like blair i dont know much about thier supercharger. I think its a postive Displacment SC. I am Not sure what brand SC. But Hears what i do know. They dont have a kit for the late Model XJ's. Which means me and my 99XJ and my money will be shoping else where.
Out of 5 Companys. Some good some bad. Not a single Once can make a great kit. And buy great i mean. Either comes with a new comp or you send them your comp to get Flashed. Has all the Fuel Problems all Figured out. ITS DAM Intercooled.( the XJ-armor kit doesnt come withone). Its Complete Bolt on. I really dont like drilling holes in my oil Pan. And fiits under my dam hood without having to cut a hole in it. Really is that to much to ask for. Its not like the XJ is Not Populary or something. Its not like these compaines wouldnt make thier money back. I dont mind paying extra for a kit that comes with everything even a new intake manifold if need be. My other car is a srt4. I love the thing. What i love most about it. Is that its boosted. I want the same thing with my XJ. Looks like i am going to have to wait until a good company can step out to the dam plate. Well im dont bitching now.
Also i cant spell/type/ and do grammer for shit. I didnt join the military cuz i was a A+ student. So before anyone bitches Get over it

then i think naxja members should start a project to figure this SC thing out I think some people are afraid to go this way. Once i get the mounting idea for an M90 (cheap) i ll go for it.

Hey,
As an option, call the guys at Clifford Research/Engineering. They have been doin' the inline six thing for a LOOOOONG time. They have a stand-alone weber throttle bidy set-up that the guy there I talked to said makes BIG HP. It's not cheap, but it's less than a Blower. You wouldn't have ANY of the problems you're talikin' about with it either.
Check it out,
Todd

I dont really think that ITBs are good for Wheeling and even for a daily driver I think its mainly for track use , i ve seen some people use oil beathers as air filters for them.
