hey guys, i don't know if this information is useful to anyone but i was at my buddy's shop earlier and i was checking out his snap-on solus scanner. there was an adapter for the very odd renix diagnostics connector. it was labeled jeep in the case. i'm going to take my jeep monday and have him scan it for me, to see if and how it works.

I've seen references for these, but never seen one in action. As I understand it, the Renix output is essentially an RS-232 serial output but since the code is not publicly available, nobody has been able to come up with a home made reader for it. At some point, 5-90 was eagerly seeking info to see if he could work up something, but I don't think it ever materialized. There are no stored codes in this system, so it's diagnosed running.
At some point there was a forum member in Finland, I think, who had scored an original Jeep diagnostic tester. I wonder whatever happened to that.
