Hey guys I have been reading as much info on XJ diffrences in the year as possible and I'm getting confused on the manual trany stuff.The jeep im buying has a clutch master or slave cly. prob. and not sure if its an int. or ext. slave cyl. It a 92 cherokee no other badges (EX. limited,laredo,sport).Would like to figure out b4 I buy because if its int. I will need a few day to get it fixed and I need transportation by Mon. THANKS

I'm almost positive it's external, as I looked it up a couple months ago.

The last manual I worked on was a 91 and it had an internal slave.

Ah crap, yeah it was a buddy's YJ i was looking up. External came in 1994. Double crap... that means I have an internal as well.

:banghead:O hell.I really didnt want to cause I will prob change clutch out since im in there.I really hope its a master cyl. Thanks for the help I sure I going to need more as this project goes along as .This is my first try @ building a 4X4 and im sure theirs probs. heading my way. Does the YJ bellhousing work to convert to external or only cherokee? I know a friend that has a wrecked YJ 4 cly. 5 speed that he's fixing to part out.

The 4 angry squirrels came with a different tranny, the ax-5.

94 was the year they returned to the external slave.
