HVAC upgrade

I have another problem, and i guess you could consider it modified tech, because i would like to upgrade.

My HVAC unit on my 95XJ went out today.. it was just the fan speed switch, but i hate the whole design all together,

So my question is, is the pre '97 HVAC unit compatible with the late model xj HVAC unit? i want the knobs, not the sliders.

Well. It seems like it would be very time consuming to convert the unit for a newer one. So I ended up fixing my switch. I have some pictures that I'll post later.

So, you decided against using insulated female spade connectors?
