I did the typical budget boost, then short arm lift and then lockers. After dealing with the lil T-rex arms I put an RK long arm upgrade in, but five broken shafts in and the need for more tire made me want an axle upgrade. I had ditched the D35 for a 8.25 then an 8.8, but it was the front axle that kept breaking. My brother decided to put tons under his YJ so I got the hand me down Waggys. Yay.
Another shot of her before the new axles.

I couldn't help but show her in the last form rocking Rubi's

When I first got the Jeep I smashed the grill on the trail, and I had a GMC grill lying around. It was so close to fitting that I had to throw it on. It makes people second guess what kind of rig it is though.

GMC grill =lastara

Anyway,

Tore out all the ZJ steering, and D30 stuff.
The D44's came with some Q78's too, full tread!

Ballistic Fab coil perches welded on, after turning the knuckles, changing the bearings, races and welding on a high steer arm.

Oh, while the front end was hanging I decided to powder coat my coils. Not the most fun to sandblast.

After a short trip to the local machinist, we had an upper mount.

Burned home. Considering that it is welded to nodular cast, we heated up the housing to 600 degrees, welded and then cooled slowly. This allows the metals to shrink at similar rates so the welds don't crack.

Off to a great start..but two questions, are you buckets a little to far in? Also (kinda random) what kinda of camera you using? seems like something a little better than normal.

I'll keep my GMC grill and you can have your D35.

At least it's not going to take me 6 axle shafts to figure out that 35" tires will break them. If I want larger tires, I will upgrade the axle FIRST.

I shoot with a Canon 40D, some 580EX flashes with radio triggers, couple L lenses and an umbrella or two. The coil buckets are part of the Ballistic kit and they only fit in one place after the lower control arm brackets are welded on.

DAMN nice camera! DAMN! Im partial to the 5D myself.......

I don't know if you guys saw the issue of CRAWL with the Blue TJ on the cover, I got five pages of photos from a trail ride with Ian Johnson in that issue. It wasn't much, but I did get paid.

Shaved the rear axle a little bit, just enough to slide over rocks a little easier.

Burning perches on.

I had to move my upper shock mount up in order to get a decent amount of uptravel with my 13" BBCS shocks. Too bad the reservoir is right in the way or I could have gone higher.

I have had the axles in for awhile now, I put the rear shocks through the floor in the rear, extended my front bump stops and put limiting straps in. I have been running some snowy trails with whoops and small jumps and I am very happy with the way it rides now. I just got the chance to do a little bit of crawling now that some of the snow has melted.

I'll put up some more pics of the rear setup soon.
