If baron von root can't weld it up for me I may have to recruit a better welder to help me finish the last of the welds anyone volunteering...

Its all welded up now just have too plug 2 spots with extra steel and sealer and paint the whole mess and Ill be good to go...
A big thanks to baron von root his skills are mucho better than mine but Im slowly getting there...
I disagree with the couple hours thing but its not that difficult just pay attention to the details and figure out what your doing before you make the first cuts as that will determine what you need for materials...I did 2x4 3/16" box if I had to do it again I might have done 2x6 instead as there would be less custom modification required for the rear panels but I like it a bit narrower..

where ya at??? I don't know about doing the whole thing but I sure could help ya but my welding skills just aint up to par yet enough for someone elses rig with all the galvanized thin walled crap jeep puts on the rigs... Im going to try changing the wire size on my welder and see if that makes a difference... You should look at mine close up and see if there is anything you would want to do different as it give you a ton of clearence but it might expose other areas you might want to protect:laugh3:...
Im looking like I can make it but have do desire to get my submarine licensce on this run as I have sealed my rockers up 100% and don't want water to get in there and rust...

Chit, I'm out. I looked at the calendar closer the other day and realized it's my anniversary. The missus wouldn't be very happy, especially since FedEx is delivering some boxes Fri for the heep. Daniel inspired me to get some mods done before Rockfest so teardown has begun.

Mixture of both. I'm starting with the T & J cage as the base and adding about 50 ft of tubing to it. Removing top behind the c-pillar. Rear doors will go away too. Between the hatch and the rear doors, I'll be 150 lbs lighter. Plan on going with fuel cell in the "bed" and reworking the rear bumper to get rid of 6" overhang but not likely to happen before Rockfest.

You'll lose more than 150 lbs between the hatch and the rear doors than that... Just make sure and tie it in real good with the feet as your loosing the roof and hatch that really does add something for strength...
If you get time take pics of the rear overhang removal as Im propbaly going to be reworking the rear end of mine as well especially the bumper and tire carrier..

Charlie and I waved at eachother this morning. Looked like he was headed toward TM. I went and wheeled Broken Arrow up in Sedona it was cool cause it started raining pretty good just before I got to the Stairs. Made for "some" pucker factor for the day.

Yup... Bone stock cept for shocks shackles and spacers. I really liked it up there. Kinda reminded me of Moab. Just on a PG scale.
