The time has come to make your camping reservations for SoCalFest. As usual we will be taking over a portion of Serrano Campgrounds, since we are not officially renting out the venue in order to keep us all in the same place you need to place your reservation early.

Our group will be in the furthest back loop, the Evening Star loop, in order to keep us away from other campers (although we'll still have to keep the volume down). Just go to Recreation.gov (http://www.recreation.gov/camping/Serrano_Ca/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=70533&topTabIndex=CampingSpot) and reserve your space for Serrano Campground (the link should take you directly there). Select a site between 067 - 101 to stay in our loop.

Here is a summary for the more ADD folks...

Sites to Reserve: 067 - 101 (Evening Star Loop)

NAXJA Base Camp (dinner, raffle, etc): Sites 081/082 and 084/084 (two doubles)

Remember that you must have all vehicles parked on pavement at all times in Serrano, this rule is strictly enforced. Your registration fee includes one vehicle and trailer per single site, passes for one additional vehicle are available for a nominal fee. Pets must be on leashes and if your dog leaves it behind you pick it up! Also the speed limit on the camp road is slow and enforced. Last checkout time is somewhere around noon, when we are on site I will see if we can get that relaxed but no promises.

Let's follow the rules and keep Serrano staff on our side! The more they like us the more freedom we'll have.

Due to recent snow Serrano is slated to be closed until March 1, 2010 so calling them is not an option. All reservations must be done through the above website.

Actually my Jeep is already sitting on jackstands in my garage with both axles regeared, awaiting their rightful place under the 5.5 inch Treks Long Arm/ Rear 4-link Coil Conversion- no stockers for me this year, unless I can convince the wife to wheel the Grand... but I am looking forward to hitting the harder trails this year.

No issues rolling in late, the campground host will simply come by and talk to you in the morning. I've rolled in there very late almost every time I've stayed there.

But seriously, considering it's saying it for every site on every "loop" in the campground, I'm gonna say it's a temporary website malfunction. I submitted a "contact us" error report.

Try calling the NFS at 1-877-444-6777 tomorrow. Calling the Serrano 909- number won't work, since they're closed til 3/1.

When you're reserving a site, you state how many people and how many vehicles, to a maximum of 1 vehicle, 1 trailer, and up to 8 people per site. I reserved a double site for Karen & I, and put down 16 people... in other words, you might need to cough up an extra $5 for your "extra vehicle" fee, but I think we could make room for your tent. Kinda figured there might be a few folk looking for ground space.

We've got my XJ, Karen's XJ, the 16' Egg trailer, and probably Mark Wolfe's Jeep (since he's trailering it in & they make you back your rig/trailer in so he won't be able to park his XJ on his trailer) on a double site. Probably space for your rig and your tent if you can make it. And I'll bring extra duct tape in case your kids get out of hand :laugh:. So yeah, if you can make it, we'll make room for you!

Hey Brian, I don't think I ever had you listed as Site 71, only 72 & 75... and I'm still sorry you don't get to go.

JeepGodXJ, you'd have to go to Serrano's site (click the "recreation.gov" link in the very first post in this thread; it's a shortcut Sequoia set up to take you straight to Serrano's page), and see if anything is still available for the night/s you can stay. First choice is "Evening Star" Loop, second choice is "LakeView" Loop, where we already have overflow campers (but some spots have opened in Evening Start, thru cancellations).

If it's blank on my list, that's because whoever's in that site hasn't posted up that they are there. That could be because it's
(a) a NAXJAn that hasn't clued us in to their site choice
or
(b) some poor non-Jeeping schlub that's going to be highly surprised at being surrounded by our event participants (but we'll be nice, right, folks??)

I'd say we would (since Karen & I have a double site), but we have 2 XJs & a small camping trailer & a tent, & I already told someone else they can park an XJ or it's trailer there, and we may have Homebrew & fam, and/or Julio & Corina staying on our site. And Karen's going to have 1-2 grandkids, and I'll have 1-2 daughters Fri/Sat. I just have no idea how big the site will actually be.

But if worst comes to worst, we could just use ratcheting tie-down straps to squeeze you into the campsite =).
