Picking up a 79 CJ7 this weekend for a good price. Has an AMC 20 rear and a D30 front.

Plans are to swap out the rear shafts for one piece, but I was curious about the front. How much different are they than the XJ 30? Besides having manual hubs, how much different are the shafts and what size u-joint? Its passenger side drop also.

Also, what Tcase do you reckon is in it?

tcase is most likely a dana 20, and the 30 in that is more narrow than an xj 30 and i'm not sure on the u joint size

Would the D20 transfer case be good to stick with to beef up and possibly twin stick with lower gears or would a D300 be a better option? Plans are to swap in a H.O. 4.7L stroker and an AW4.
