ive had my jeep for about 4 months now (96 country). when i got it, it had a remote start on it which was pretty cool, but i never used it. about 2 months ago, i went to leave the house and it would not start. i had it towed to an autobody shop, and they told me it was the alarm/remote start, and they had figured out a way to get it to start. they figured out that if you have the key in the "on" position, raise the hood, and push down on the starter relay, the engine will start. since then i have bought a brand new alarm without remote start, but i still have this problem every once in a while. any ideas on what to do? thanks.

oh, and ive replaced the starter, and checked the battery. all of that is ok. when i turn the key to the on position, and then to start, the e-brake light comes on for some reason.
