I'm not 100% sure this is the right sub-forum for this topic, but it seems to be the best fit, so....

I'm looking at floor mats for my '95 XJ. I have a birthday right around the corner and couldn't think of anything, then I realized I need some floormats up front. I just want something that blends in fairly well so I can keep it in there all the time, that will keep dirt, mud, snow, soda, etc off the carpet and the tranny tunnel, and that can easily be cleaned (preferrably by just hosing it off).

As fas as I know, it seems as though these Nifty floor mats (http://www.quadratec.com/products/74150_801_07.htm) would work just fine. However, I'm not sure if you can just take a hose to them and hose them off. If you can, then that's what I want, as they would blend in with the rest of the carpet just perfectly.

However, if they won't stand up to getting muddy and getting washed, then I guess I'll go for these Husky floor mats (http://www.quadratec.com/products/74161_824_07.htm). They look like they'd hold dirt and mud very well, and are easily washable. However, like I said, they don't blend in well with the rest of the car, so I wouldn't want to keep them in there all the time, which is why I'd rather have the 'Nifties'.

So, anyone have any experience with either of these?

Thanks!!

Wow, everybody seems to like the Husky's better. Why's that?

I think I'd still rather have the others since they'd fit in better...but it looks like I'll have to go with the Husky's.

I got some from the stealership for a deal. They are the husky-type, with 1" grooves to contain water/mud/etc. Don't know the price off hand....for the rear, I got some cheap ones from walmart that are square with the same groove-type that can catch liquids.

Those Nifty appear to be carpeted?

My vote is if you're gonna spend the $$$ go Husky's.

for me, it is hard enough to keep carpet clean in a off road rig, why would i want to put in more?

Its all about Hex-O-Mats. Best things ever made, trap water and dirt and keep it there. My friend has them in his toy they rock.

I like the Husky HD Slush Liners. They are slushy and look alright, also your heel doesnt eat away at it like if it were carpet.
