Well I've only been back on the boards for about 2 weeks, and now back in Red. Yeah!
Also got some work done this last Saturday. Didn't get anything done on fixing the flex plate but did make some progress on cleaning my parents garage in order to have some working room.
Here's what I have to work in, and my Dad had already spent 2 hrs on it.

I was also able to pick up a Dana 30 with 4.56 gears (thanks to Dellstopjeep) to match my 8.25 in the rear. I also picked up some crossover steering from 2xtreme earlier in the week. My plan is to add WJ knuckles and brakes while I have the front end out. I also plan to get raised sway bar mounts and move the track bar to over the axle. I was planning on using the JKS over axle bracket, but this is a disconnect d30 and their bracket doesn't work with vacuum disconnect d30's. So I'll either need to modify the bracket or find something else.

What are the specs on the Jeep?
Congrats on becoming a member again too. Get the Jeep going again, and we'll have to get a trip together to test it out.

94' Sport 4.0l Dana 30 (open) Chry 8.25 4.56 gears with Auburn limited slip. 4.5" RE short arm kit with 2" spacer and 1.75" shackle with drop brackets. Running 33" BFG MT's
I have a set of used 5.5" leaf springs I bought a while ago that well be going in. Along with the new front end with 4.56 gears I'm going tomorrow to take a look at another dana 30 with a ARB locker for $175. If the locker looks good then that'll be going in as well.

I didn't either, it's no biggy. I may be able to modify the bracket to use, or find something else.
Your jeep gave me a ton of ideas. I plan on doing the durango steering box, and the a/c compressor. I also really like the rocker panels. My to do list before May keeps getting longer and longer.

Dang, just got off the phone with the guy about the arb and it's the wrong carrier size. It's for the stock 3.54 gears. Will I guess that's one less thing to do.

All finished! Will sort of, got the trans all bolted up, cross member on, dust cover and starter on, changed the oil and tranny fluid, and coolant. I tried to start it, it turned over but no spark. I'm going to do a full tune-up and I need a new crank position sensor. I ripped the wires out of the old one taking the old flex plate out. Tried to rewire it but didn't seem to work. Going to start again next weekend, maybe I'll have it wheelable by the next TSF run.

Got her fired up tonight. Some advice for those trouble shooting on any vehicle. Always check the simple stuff, like making sure your distributor is plugged in before you go out and buy a $70 crank sensor.
She doesn't run great, actually pretty rough. It sounds like one of the pistons is not firing. Just did a complete tune up, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Anyone got any suggestions?
I'm also going to start prepping the new front end to get put in.

Did you double check all the plug wires to make sure they were all in the right spot?
Plugs gapped right?

Got some more work in today. Pulled the fuel rail off and cleaned all the injectors. It runs a lot better, real smooth. Got the linkage all put back together, and rear drive line in. Took it for a spin around the block, lots of squeaks, going to have to do some greasing. The steering is definitely an issue, took a 1/8 to 1/4 turn of the wheel before it would begin to turn.
Here's a picture of one of the injectors, not very clear, took it with my phone.
Oh, and I found an extra o-ring on the fuel rail side of the 3rd injector. It was all beat up, I'm surprised there was any fuel getting to that injector.

Here it is after the trip around the block.

lol, still need to swap the front end so the gears will match. Still not completely confident to take it on long trip yet. It's first trip may be to Goat, or Wild Cat Mtn. Some place I can limp it home, or it tow easily.

Went to Harbor freight today and picked up some new jack stands that will reach the frame rails, a spring compressor, and a step bit to drill the knuckles out for the new steering. I also picked up a new front bumper from Craigslist. Going to use it as a base to build off of, only $150. The guy originally wanted $275. It's pretty light, but it's only spot welded on the inside, so that will need to be finished, also wanted to weld on some d-ring tabs, and eventually add a pre-runner hoop from JCR.
Here's the add w/ pictures.

Going to get Friday off work so I can spend the whole day getting the front end swapped. If I can get it in, and am confident that nothing will break, I should be able to meet up with you guys on Saturday. What CB channel will you guys be on? and any idea what trail you'll be hitting up first?

Moving along nicely, and just think a few weeks ago it was still in it's three year hibernation.
Hope you can make it out this weekend. Stretch out those coils and leafs a bit.

Update:
I started pulling the front axle today. I Got shocks and brake lines off. I also got both knuckle tre's off but the one at the pitman arm is being a pain. I spent most of the afternoon pounding on it and using a pickle fork to try and get it to pop off. Man I'm glad I'm going with heims so I wont have to do this again. Tomorrow I'm going to start with the control arms, and collapsing the springs.
I'm not sure that my new steering will work with out relocating my track bar axle mount. Wont really know till I get the new axle in and steering mocked up.

I got the front end in and mounted. The heim steering I have isn't going to work until I get an over the axle track bar bracket. I'm going to try and purchase the one for sale in the NWC for sale forum. If I can get that tomorrow, I don't see any reason I can't meet you guys down there on Saturday.

Well doesn't look like I'll be making it. No word on the steering, and the upper control arm krawler joint I got with the new front end doesn't fit my RE upper. So I'll have to order a new joint from RE. I've already tried getting my old upper bushing out, but with out a press it's becoming impossible.

it didnt fit my upper very well either so I spread the control arm out a bit with some leverage and it then fit on.

I tried, but it's off by quite a bit, about 3/8". I already ordered a RE Superflex joint for it, only $35, but I had to buy the special socket for it which was $20. So hopefully I'll get it mid next week . I'll be ordering my TNT long arms next month, so hopefully both will work with those so I can get rid of both rubber bushings.

Went to the junk yard yesterday and pulled the rear disks off a ZJ. Got the mocked up on a 8.25 that was originally in the jeep. I'm going today to pick up some Explorer sport trac rear disc. Hopefully I can get the rear brakes, upper joint and steering done by this weekend. Still waiting to here from fourplay about the steering.

Here's what I've been working on the past view days waiting for my upper control arm joint, and to purchase the steering from Fourplay.
Here's a pic of the right rear.

Got the backing plate, calipers, and brake lines from u pull it. They came of a 93 Grand that had only been in the yard a few days, it was in really good shape, except the front end which was envolved in an accident. It had almost brand new brake pads on it also. I got the rotors brand new from Schucks. Total was just under $100 for everything, including brake fluid. All I have to do now is take out the rubber seal in the porportioning valve, and bleed the brake system, then take it for a spin and test it out. Going to be putting the new steering I purchased from Fourplay, and finish the brakes tomorrow after class.
