Well, I went to go to church, and couldnt find my key anywhere. Bad part is, it is my only programmed key for my Heep! Damnit! Gonna be spendy to have a locksmith come out and program me a new one. Anyone know if they can do it by vin?

It is a 99. I had it broken into back in August, and John had to replace the transmitter deal on the column. Had the key re-programmed. Have another key, but it is programmed for the old transmitter. Have been too broke to spend 70 bucks getting it reprogrammed. Should have. Bet this is gonna cost me more than 70 bucks.

that happen to me a while back,i had a locksmith come by he gave me 2 keys for 60 bucks,and wut sucked the most i found my key a couple hours later haha.....

Only issue is with these keys, the dealer wanted like 70 bucks to cut a blank, and like 80 to program it. So, for the mere price of 150, I'd have a working key. I have a few keys that work just for the doors, they will start it too, but the computer doesnt get a signal from the key, and kills it.

.........you don't technically need your key to start your car.......but yea dude those transmitter things are spendy i feel your pain'....go thru the checklist is your jeep in your driveway?

if its there then chances are you still have your keys!

Dodged a bullet on this one.. Found the key in the wifes car after she got home from work. Think I will go and get my spare key programmed after work tomorrow.

If you have AAA i think they give a discount for programming keys.
