Fuel Pump question on my ZJ

sorry, this question is about my ZJ... but its pretty generic..

I started having a fuel cutting issue, and narrowed it down to the Fuel pump, they are notorious for going bad on these rigs, so i bought a new one, spent the last two nights (3 hours a peice) dropping the tank, and replacing the pump..

Got the tank back up, hooked up real good. Now it wont start.. It turns over, and will fire, and stumble for about 2-5 seconds.. I have tried to "prime" the system by relieving the Shrader valve on the fuel rail, still nothing, there is plenty of pressure at the rail and i smell the fuel out the exhaust.. I have checked to make sure their is no leaks (so far)..

I checked the fuel pump Relay, it seems fine..

any idea's?

Bad coil or flooded engine. Pull the spark plugs out and see if they are wet with gas.
