My built wrangler unlimited was stolen last year. They clocked it
going into mexico. I just waved bye-bye to the truck (and my monthly payment, not a bad thing!). Still sucked though.

What gets me is that its an 88 sedan, faded paint, body isn't the greates and its got fugly burgandy interior. Engine is stock but rides is lowered a bit on some chinky wheels. Guess its time to buy a truck.

Hey Julio, they stole my buddy's candy red CRX Dec.26th 2008 and it was recovered at a tow yard in LA (he lives in LBC). His family went and looked at it and said it was stripped so he didn't go get it. He went a couple weeks later and they had only taken the fenders, seats and wheels off and put stock steelies on it to make it look bad. He saw it a few months later within 5 miles of his house with the rims on it, same seats and fenders painted white but you could see original candy red through. My guess is it was planned out this way. Good luck finding it, maybe once they realize it doesn't have a LS vtec or B18C5 in it they'll park it along side the road.

Yeah, jokes on them... ant this time it doesnt have a sweet Grant GT steering wheel. Last time they stole it it had TEIN suspension and some 14" VX wheels with falken azenis. they put it back on steelies, took the stock ECU and the steering wheel. WTF?????????? oh and they left the suspension. Morons! i pikced it up 2 weeks later when they found it and all i needed was a steering wheel and an ECU which i had back at home.

That sucks bro, sorry to hear. I wish that lo-jack was not so expensive. It is really a good thing. My friend Manny had his mustang jacked. Called the police with his lo jack info, and they recovered the car in less then 2 hours. But only reason he herd it leave was because it was hella loud.

Took a knife to every piece of lather in it. wrote F>>>you on the seats. unplugged the computer so it would over heat. even took my sisters kids clothes and my tools out the trunk.

im thinking this. alot of older hondas especially lowered ones have vtec swaps, they were probably just trying to get lucky. good luck getting it back man, i'll keep my eyes peeled for a cheap commuter for ya. I may know of someone unloading a datsun 510 for cheap, i'll give him a call.

Damn, Julio. That sucks. Doesn't matter whether it was a POS or a dream car--it was yours, not theirs. Thieves suck. And not in a good way. Hopefully they'll find it.

If not, and if you replace it, get something that looks less likely to have perf parts in it, like my little 98 Mitsu Mirage--there isn't as much aftermarket glam or perf for Mitsu. It rides on 13" tires, gets 34mpg with an automatic (and I drive over the limit way too often). Feed the squirrel-powered 1.5l motor more gas, and it'll get you up hills. No real style or grace, but it's not actually a bad ride. I've had it for almost a year, and saved more in gas (over driving my XJ at 15mpg) than the $1400 I paid for it with 137K miles (it's rocking 155K already).

Obviously, you'd be replacing a high mpg car with another high mpg car, but I don't see a Mirage screaming "steal me!!" even in LA.

One of Cory's Marine buddys came down with a 1993 Sentra SE-r with a SR20det S3 cams, bored to 86mm, forged internals, Z32 maf, T3/T4 .63 AR/57 trim says about 400 whp. That thing was a total sleeper. Barely see front mount intercooler and paint chipping while rolling stock wheels and suspension.

suspension, roll bar, aftermarket wheels, etc.

It belongs to my in-laws, but I've been asked to store it and sell it. It's currently
registered and sitting (covered) on my parking pad on my property.

I know you're in LA, but maybe someone down here can come look at it, that you trust, to give you an honest opinion. I'd have no problem spending a few hours letting someone fine tooth it.
