Are there any problems after changing the output shaft and rear cone on the 4wd with the 2wd parts? Mines a 1988 4.0 cherokee. Thanks for your replies in advance.

Please don't spend the time doing this, find someone in your local area looking to do the reverse, 2wd to 4wd is much more common so it should be easy to find someone with an unwanted 2wd tranny and do a trade.

Theres no problem as long as your planning on rebuilding the tranny,it has to be completely dis-assembled to perform that task!
