Last I heard he was feeling sick again, but getting better.

Let us know what you find out.

Gave Jim a call just now.

His prostrate surgery initially went well, but they were unable to take care of the kidney stone issue. Apparently as a result, he developed infections to both his prostrate and urinary tract. Obviously - that has severely affected his activity.

He said he's been laid-up in the hospital for the past 8 days, but has been improving steadily. His doctor is looking to move him from the hospital to a senior care center in Greenwood Village today or tomorrow, anticipating that he'll only need to remain there for a month or less.

He was in great spirits and mostly just sick and tired of being sick and tired! :D

He also mentioned that he and his son are discussing selling his house. He's looking at getting into a permanent senior center - something like Concordia on the Lake (S. Wadsworth and W. Bowles) so he may need some help in the near future with moving.

Jim said to tell you all "Hi" and that he appreciates our concern! I told him not to hesitate to get with any of us if he needed anything, but he said for now, he's got things covered.

PM me if you'd like his phone number - I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from a few of you guys.

Talked to Jim a bit ago -- he is in really good spirits (as usual), but says the nurses are still a herd of warthogs. Lost 40 lbs since Thanksgiving, and still will have to deal with the kidney stone issue in about a month, but he says he's confident he is on the road to recovery -- I told him we were all thinking of him, and to let us know what help he needs with his move and all.

Tell him I heard that Crown Royale helps get rid of kidney stones.

Did Jim say if there was any time better than another for calling him?

Not to me. I imagine anytime mid morning to late afternoon would work for him. Dunno what the evenings are like for him wherever he's gonna be staying here shortly....... :dunno: But he will have his cell phone with him.

I talked with Jim this morning. He's at the nursing care facility (old folks home) and not fitting in:
He's at least 10 years younger than everyone else there.
His idea of entertainment is not a trip to Walmart.
He's the only one who can get around under his own power.

He says he will steal a wheelchair so he can blend with the crowd.

He tried "borrowing" a computer that was there, but couldn't post. He'll be looking into wireless technology so he can keep participating in life in the outside world.

Best times to call are from 1:00 Pm 'till 5 or 6-ish.

If he misses your call, he'll return it in about an hour.

He said "thanks!" for thinking of him.
