i just did a great jub replacing the drum brakes on my 93 cherokee. 9 inch brakes, chrysler 8."whatever" rear end. One small problem, they both look identical! Identical in that the cable assembly at the bottom is towards the rear on both sides. If the passenger side is the "right" side and the drivers the left, which should have things reversed?

Thanks so much...

They will look the same in reference to the vehicle. If you look at them in relation to the end of the axle and consider things on right and left is when they mirror each other. Both sides will have the same parts on the front and back.

The cable should be at the rear on both sides. It sounds like you have it right. Whatever is at the rear on one side, should be at the rear on the other side too. As JJacobs suggested, the best tip is to only take one side apart at a time. Then you can see how all the little parts go back together.
