Well here is a god news bad news story that has just occurred in my life. Sunday my sister and I headed out to do some x-mas shopping and pick up my new kick ass trailer from Rich (wildman). So we stop at a couple places along the way to Rancho Cucamonga, and then head to get the trailer. We get the trailer, and we head out again (all excited from my new purchase) we go to Ontario Mills mall to do some shopping. We get there around 1:30 pm, and are there till about 4:30pm.
Upon coming out of the mall I make a joke about the trailer still being attached to the truck, we laugh and walk to the truck(trailer was still there). We get to the truck, I click the remote and open the door for my sister ( like a gentleman should.lol) As I open the door I notice that things aren't quite the way we left them. It was wierd, the papers and other junk that was sitting on my center console were sitting on the passenger seat. My sis and I start looking around and see that everything is still in the truck ( XM radio, gifts in the back seat, everything was there) so I justify it by thinking I hit the lid to the console up when I got out of the truck....no biggie. So we head home and the day was all good, got some shopping done picked up trailer, spent time with sis.......win win!

That brings us to today.........I do my usual morning stuff, take my kid to school and stop by a friends house for breakfast( seems normal enough right?) I return home and decide I need to get something from my truck, as I get close to it I notice that the lock cylinder is no longer where it is supposed to be!

Well I guess it turns out that someone did break into my truck on Sunday, they didn't take anything, and for what ever reason couldn't get the truck started to take it either. There is no damage at all to my truck what so ever, no damage to the door handle or the ignition or anything. So I guess I have built up some pretty good Karma over the year, and for that I did not get my truck stolen. Just wanted to share this little story to everyone, ultimately it turned out good for me but now I am on the alert to make sure the asshats don't try and steal it from my house now. At least here I have my firearms!!!!

Thanks for reading.

Merry X-mas!

Dude, that sucks...I carry a old used police type radio in my jeep and if I see peeps where they should not be I just stop and grab my radio and start calling codes.

HAHA, funny how people scurry...

Glad that it all worked out well and that nothing was taken.

Glad to hear it turned out good!!!

I know about Karma too. The wife and I had to sell her 94 accord LX (the one Cory has) to pay bills. Well, about a month ago a family she was babysitting for gave her a 1994 Accord DX. Karma is a good bitch sometimes!!! Guess trying to live my life better is paying off or at least my wife being a good person is anyway.

I woke up one morning and went out to go to work... no truck... called the GF... Nope... so I called it in... stole my mom's car & went to work. After work I went out to some local remote spots common for dumping stolen cars.
We start hitting one canyon after another I notice some fishtail marks... so I light up one canyon & there it is... NOT burnt... I get on the C.B. & holler to my buds... I found my F'n TRUCK !!! all of a sudden the C.B. comes alive with chatter from people I wasn't with... a friend who was out looking in the local ghetto cause he heard about my truck... some co-workers whom I didn't know at the time... my ex-step father... "where you at what do ya need?"
So I get to the truck and everything is looking O.K. it's kinda wedged in a tight side wash a bit... after we looked hi & low for someone looking to jump us I opened the door... wait... there's a key in it... WTF ?? So I hit it & it fires... WHAT !! So I get back on the radio have the cops called to see what they want to do next... NOTHING... cancelled the report. So upon further inspect. it appeared the whomever was driving hit their knee on the wiper knob and broke it while bouncing around... I was missing my Jason field glasses, but the rest of my crap was there... flashlight... tools...
I started it again & it seemed to struggle to move a bit then I realized it was stuck and in 4W HI, so I hopped out check/locked the hubs, pulled it into low & backed it right out... drove fine... WHEW. Now an added twist...
There were actually 3 keys on the ring the door, the ingn. & one for the locks on the shell hatch.
So now more confused then ever... apparently they had a full set of keys to my truck.
My guess is seeing as how I bought it used from a co-worker who's ex-wife supposedly had a set of keys. She once saw me in the bank and said that she was going to give me the keys. Well her kid was a druggie and sorta lived in the same part of town so my guess is he knew where I lived & decided to "borrow" the truck or traded the keys for dope or ??

Now that's Luck ! Karma or all that clean living I've done... and knowing where most of the stolen cars were taken to.

Oh... I never fixed the wiper knob... never need them down here it doesn't rain...

I need to audit karma, specifically carma, that's a real bitch to me lately (and I"m so nice to all the cars I have!).

Somtimes I sit and wonder if maybe I was Hitler in a past life.

Dean, those newer trucks require a transponder to start... he could have gotten the ignition picked over without any damage but wouldn't be able to get it to start. Not sure what their intention was with breaking in though, usually someone with the know how to pick a newer ignition over also knows that the newer GM's have transponder keys. Either way, score on not getting anything taken, but still a bummer. I'd be pissed, almost feel violated in some way.

Yeah Jim, I don't know what their deal was. I think they just got spooked, but maybe they just weren't that good at stealing cars. Bottom line is , I am very happy to still have my truck and trailer!

Not in deans truck there is no transponder system. In they didnt start putting the transponders in the full size trucks like that until just recently, 2007 I believe.
