I know that whenever a lender runs your credit report, that it drops your fica score just a bit. However, I would like to know how much.
Try some place like lending tree.
Would you be willing to run your score before, and then after credit reports are run - just to see how much it drops? Let us know.
oh btw,
Good luck with the process...

Be very careful! You can pull your credit several times, in a short period of time, for the same reason, without it bringing your score down but sites like LendingTree will often pull it a lot more.
On of my lenders was telling me about a client that had dozens of pulls in less than a month, because of LendingTree and it made the difference between a prime loan (good) and a sub prime loan (not good).

I looked into it with lending tree not too long ago. I didn't have a good experience. The person I was talking to "relocated" and I was given a new rep. All the sudden interest rates went up and I couldn't afford the payment...
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that if the credit reports are run within a 2 week period, and are for a home mortgage, it only counts as 1. I could be wrong but this is how I understood it.
Good Luck

I am a licensed real estate mortgage loan officer. You can pull your credit scores for housing or refinancing as many times as you want after the initial inquiry for up to 60 days and it will not ding your credit. The problem occurs when you do not tell your loan consultant that it is for refinaince or purchase of real estate. Most of the big mortgage companies do it right but some of the smaller ones especially smaller banks may run them incorrectly and ding your credit as a personal property finance inquiry. Also, some "dispicable" loan officers will run your credit as a real estate inquiry and get you approved and then have one of there buddies run the personal end to drop your score so that you have problems getting financing elsewhere and it takes too long to get straitened out during a purchase. Also some of these companies will sell your info to other corps so they can send you all that junk mail and applications. I'm not saying I know of any specific instances just saying that word gets around. If you want fair loan rates then call our office at 909-593-4336. I have been on haiatus due to the slow down but my broker is also my cousin and she will treat you good! (read fair and proffesional, not discount)

I left the dealership in June of 2005. I went into Real Estate then and left that in december of 2005 because I had 2 bad months in a row and the market was getting tight. I just took me too long to get my shite together before I made the move and the boom dried up. Anyway, I plan on going back to it someday soon. Right now I am the west coast distribution manager for Coachmen RV.:bunny:
