Vent window replacement

The vent window in my jeep was leaking pretty badly so I got a window out of the junkyard along with the weatherstripping. My seal was pretty chewed up (probably why it leaks) so I'm replacing that as well.

This is probably a stupid question, but is the seal supposed to be somewhat rigid so it slides in place? I've been trying to get the seal in, but it doesn't seem to want to go in place since it's so floppy.

It's an 88 with the functional vent windows.

In my experience you replace the whole piece with guide for the main window and all, its really easy, just gotta remove the door panel as well.

Thanks guys...Eric that write up is just what I need. I may just run to the junkyard and get another one rather than try to get the seal back in...the window and seal were only $1
