Bad Starter?

2000 XJ sport. when ig o to start it, it turns over then the starter seems to disengage and just spin then turns over and starts. Just put in a new battery, wondering if i should change the starter? I thinks its still the OEM.

Yup, time for a new starter. Stay away from rebuilt.
