Can you redrill WJ hub to 5X4.5

I was looking at the wj hubs on line today at work and was wondering if they could be re drilled to the xj bolt patter and if anyone had done so. From what i have read they look to have a bigger bearing and would go nicly with my wj brake upgrade. Thanks

Is it possible to redrill the pattern? Sure. Its only a matter of laying out the pattern, drilling the proper size holes, and installing new studs.


The thing that would concern me would be if the WJ hub will accept a u joint stub correctly. Its setup for a CV stub from the factory. Also, would it correctly line up the u-joints axis with the ball joint axis.

I've seen WJ hubs redrilled 5x5.5 and run on WJ knuckles with XJ stub shafts.

The stub shaft isnt really long enough, you barely get the nut on and cannot run a washer or cotter pin with it.

I would NOT suggest it.
