Jeep vapor locked after hard wheeling

So I wheeled my jeep for the first time yesterday pretty hard, as I was coming out of the hole I was in, I started up a hill pretty slow and easy, once I got on the top of the hill, Jeep just died. Well after letting it sit and bled the test port on the fuel rail, it started and ran great.

Only thing I can guess is it vapor locked because I was running it hard, it was up to about 210-215 and aux fan kicked on 2 or 3 times, so it was hot under the hood.


Anyone ever have this problem?

What year? You probably have the "improved" later model with no fuel return line. Search "heat soak". Common problem.

Sorry, it's a 96. I've read that some 96's don't have return lines, maybe later productions
