so i was wondering on the transfer case what is that rubber hose that has a nipple on the end of it? is it a breather line????

Yes, keep it up high.
 
so i dont have to worry about it in the engine bay and i dont have to worry about dust getting into in the bay right
 
It should be run up by the trans vent and have a filter on it.
