Yes, they made it home. 35 MPH... the LCA mount re-weld failed on the way I was told. The two broken XJ's live close to one another, then Tom and I are roommates so we had 2 separate caravans going.

Will do, Jon. Will be sad to see my old XJ all cut up and shit! :(

I posted a writeup, photos, vids here: http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1016619

I have a HD tie-rod sitting in my basement. I will be putting it on before I head out next. I hope they all do the same!

Psh, what fun is that?! We just have to bring more spare parts next time so we don't spend so much time straightening out them thar tie-rods!

Ah, I was not aware. Good to hear she's getting used though. I figured that motor & trans would be the last things to get replaced. I miss having 40k miles on the 4.0L and an NV3550 :(

Ian, the guy above ya Jon (redneckboarder) comes down here now and then. I'm sure you could tag along with him next time he comes down if we go to Rausch Creek. At least that way you wouldn't be heading here alone!

I'd love to get up that far north, especially in fall! It's on the list of trips! I've personally never been further north than NY/CT. It's sad really. Work & school own me... and my hobbies... let's not even get into those :-\

Nice, ill have to catch up sometime then! We finally got some snow up here...i actually got "stuck" in the storm coming home Friday from Mass. I was pissed, nothing like have a built rig to get stuck behind the minivans and cars with no snow tires...ugh....I tried to get home 3 ways, all of them closed for a couple hours till they could clean things up. I asked the troopers to let me go, but they were not havin it...oh well. I did help 3 people out of the ditches with the winch, so I spent my time wisely.
