So I strapped the XJ down to the trailer tonight and was on the trailer getting a few things out and when I closed the door I noticed I could see between the upper rear door and the door jam. So I unlocked it and closed it again well it still looks the same.... I can see from the outside of the door to the inside of the passenger compartment.

Getting on to the question;
I am getting ready to re-tube the HP44 and go to a 4 or 3 link style front end and do a new skidplate and then re-work the rear of the suspension as well.

Do I-

1.) Cage it and continue to build on it?
2.) Start over with the other one I just brought home?
3.) Should I move to a Wrangler of some sort and stretch it to XJ wheel-base?
4.) EVERYONE's does that just bend the top of the door back in and get over it.

Thanks,
Jeremy

So you have a tow rig and a trailer, and another XJ to boot? Chop the top and cage it. Problem solved. :D

More likely you tweaked the unibody not the door. Long term heavy wheeling takes its toll on the XJ if you don't get it structurally supported before you start. I gave up on my old XJ and did a complete body swap.

Tom,
That is what I am thinking, Are you happy that you did yours that way?

It is a ton of work but it nice to start fresh.
