38 tsl's on some kind of Eagle Alloy. I don't really know, got the wheels for free. Cage work should be started in the next few weeks along with the front and rear half doors.

Its not the 5 lugs that scare me... its the 4.5" spacing that scares me.:hang:

Oh... never thought to put sensible and south together!

:laugh3:

still not a good idea. Even if you dont wheel ever, those ball joints are not happy.... actually really unhappy! Bet the braking power is something to be desired to!

this is a work in progress, guys, I've got new balljoints coming for it and I'm already planning the upgrade to one tons. I work at Tennessee Offroad and I've got a 14 bolt with 4.56's and a detroit sitting in my shop. I haven't decided if I want to run a chevy or ford front yet, guess it depends on if I can find a decent dana 300 to throw in it. Next on my list is getting my cage built. This is going to be trailered everywhere for the time being so I'm not worried about blowing up the 30 or 8.25, but with the top cut and no doors on the front I want some protection for me and the wife. as far as the specs here goes:

6.5" Rough Country lift with adjustable arms and adjustable track bar
2 " BB spacer up front
Rubicon Steering (it was free and in better shape than my stock steering)
15x10 Eagle alloys (don't know what series, they were free)
38x12.50r15 TSL's
Bilstein 5150 shocks going up front
Tera Extreme Short Shaft Kit
Rear CV Driveshaft made by Dave's Driveshaft in Nashville, TN
Corbeau 4 point harnesses
Yukon 4.56's front and rear (open for now)
upgraded to TJ shafts in the front
Rhino Lined interior by Rhino Linings of Nashville (thanks Chris)

So what you're saying is that you're running short arms with 8.5 inches of lift?

Corbeau 4 point harnesses
How do you have those mounted with no cage?

Hey its ok... he works for Tennessee Off Road.

How much would you charge to lift me jeep? I only have 4.5 inches of lift and the 35s clear perfectly, but I want 40s.

I'd not only be worried about that but 38's with 4.56 gears? I'd go higher than that... something like 5.13s or 5.38s. That is unless you've already got the 4.56s for free :)

Yes, I know I'm in the wrong chapter...

they are adjustable arms. I have a good friend of mine that runs this same setup and I've never seen him have trouble. The Corbeau harnesses bolt to the factory seatbelt locations in the back. I don't have a backseat so that's not an issue. They will be tied into the cage, though, as soon as it's built.

So the straps that go over your shoulders run down to the floor? Roll it like that and you'll snap your neck for sure.

If your rig is not gonna be street rig then your ball joints wil be fine..

I have a ford 44 with 38 tsl's and I have had the same ball joints for 3 years.. and I just replaced them..cause they started to show wear.. so 3 years of me ropping on them on the trail that is fine.. plus it only took 2 hrs to change them..

BUt the other question to ask is: does he have a 5 speed or an auto??

I have a auto with 38's and 4.88 and it runs perfect...now I am not gonna say he should not try to go lower cause I think lower is better but he doe s not have to

It's an auto tranny, but so far I haven't had trouble with the 4.56's. It crawls pretty well and I ran it down the road yesterday and there was no lag in acceleration. The next thing I do to the driveline will probably be a Tera 4:1 kit for my 231
