I paid $750ish for the winch and the line. It's been pulled once, to get me up guardrail when my tcase exploded. Otherwise, it's brand new.

With the synthetic installed, I'd go $500. Or $400 if you want to source your own line. I don't have the cable anymore.

I found some BIG ASS military grade shackles. I am sure they are rated for an obscene amount of tonage.

Also found an air tank I picked up a long time ago in the hopes of going to OBA. Rated for 150psi.

i have some stock limited mesh wheels, need to be cleaned up the clear is coming off. and i have some BFG at's 1 tire has a patch in the sidewall lug, one tire the inside of the sidewall is chewed up from driving on a flat for a little until i could pull over (valve broke off). all tires hold air just fine, would be perfect for a trail rig or something.

I only had it installed with the 6 bottom bolts. I'll bring all the hardware with me. The skid I have has the 242 section and the internal bracing that is now an "option" on their website. I think it cost me $360 shipped.

Does this replace the factory cross member? I cant really tell from there website. Is it 100% straight? I dont know much about Treks products but that seems alittle pricing when you can buy one from JCR for $175. Or is there some thing else that I am missing (other than the internal bracing)?

The JCR one goes over the crossmember, the Treks one is a replacement. This is the same bellypan that they mount their long arm mounts to. Extremely strong. It might be a little scraped, but I doubt it. I've only be wheeling 3 times with it installed.

We can make it functional in about 30 minutes. You could drill the frame mounts later. I never bothered because I didn't have long arms mounted to it.

Painted with zinc chromate primer and OD green :D

-new exhaust pipe and muffler from where the catalystic converter originally was to tip
-AW-4 drained/refill (have filter to go with when you finish drain/fill to clear up the fluid)
-engine have newer spark plugs
-recent oil and filter change
-heater core valve bypassed
-coolant drained/refill
-new front clip and right fender (with parts from junk yard)
-new u-joints in front axle
-new t-case rear output seal


the good
-it starts right up and drive very powerful
-trans and t-case shifts just great
-good tire treads
-all doors and glass are in good shape
-rust-free rockers
-interior looks OK for its age

the bad
-rotted floor panels
-rust a little on front left fender
-front and rear bumper smashed (not me! from PO)
-need spark plug wires as they arcs on near by metals as ground but still runs great(no big deal)
-radio head unit's FUBAR

the worst part about this jeep is...
-NO TITLE! *faceplam* (I MIGHT can get a title but right now theres no title at time being, so you will have to tow it) but it wont be a issue if you want a jeep to be a trail rig/trailer queen.

I am not in hurry to get rid of it, just a feeler. I may build it up and hit the trails with it along with my another XJ

FYI the "non-trussed" D35 have welds on the tube to pumkin. I used it to practice welding cast to mild steel. it seem still to be straight and turn freely so I think it will do you fine.

Just take them. If nobody take them I will put them by the street for the Mexicans to pick them up for scrap metal

may have a set of 285/75/16 BFG All Terrains off my tow rig up for grabs. One tire is 95%, another is probably 60% and the fronts are @ 50% but cupping due to prior owner never rotating them. tan headliner, and its in nearly beautiful shape...has a small cigarette burn above the drivers side, not hardly noticeable...and its not falling apart at all. even have the speaker box in decent shape. have all the tan interior pieces...including seat belts...

Trailmaster drop brackets (same idea as RE or RC) with welded braces that capture the t-case cross-member bolts.
I have all brackets and spacers.

Currie D30 draglink and Goferit HD tie rod with Dodge 3/4 ton TREs. These TREs have the same taper as stock D30, so will bolt right up to stock knuckle and Currie draglink. I would recommend replacing the TREs for significant road driving. This is a BEEFY set up that would run about $400 new. I will throw in stock steering as well for spares (never needed them).

i have a superlift tracbar for 4.5-6.5" lifts (supposedly). i had it on my 6.5" lift and it was almost fully adjusted in so i dunno about the 4.5" lifts. anyways, its heim on frame end, poly bushing on axle. i have the bolts and mis-alignment spacers. the heim started to clunk before i took it out so it might be wise to change it out. i have it locally on CL for $85. WF special of $70.

Same here, buy the standard HD SYE off eby and then go to a salvage yard and pick up a front Drive shaft... much much cheaper to do it this way...

For what it's worth I will have an extra front shaft off of either an XJ or a ZJ, depending on which I use. I would expect them to be the same length but I haven't checked it.

I would have had an SYE for sale but I decided to keep it for myself. :D

I have a 231 skid on my 242, as long as the lowest point on the x-fer case doesn't sit lower than your crossmember you can run a 231 skid. For some reason my 242 sits high enough. Take a straight edge and place it on the crossmember to check for interference.

I had a Rusty's on there and it was a 231 model. VERY CLOSE clearance between the skid and the TC. I coulnd't put my finger between the two.

Ok, I have quit a few things laying around that I should sell and could bring with to WF. First the big things,

D30 non disco HP from my '98. It has an ARB, Canyon Carver steering, 4.88 Superior gears. The gears, internal bearings, and ARB all have about 1000 miles on them. The shafts are newer also. The ARB is the newer much stronger unit. The Canyon Carver steering raises the tie rod and gets rid of the stock inverted Y steering set up. The axle currently has no provisions for sway bar links. I drove this on the street all the time and did not need them. I have a set of spare Spicer shafts with joints brand new that will go with it. $1800

Chrysler 8.25 W/ARB and 4.56 gears. Axle is in great shape. I only pulled it so I could go to 4.88's. At the time 4.56 was the lowest gear available, now you can get 4.88's. Axle will come with a spare set of shafts and a spare housing if you want it. The axle has the backing plates, drums, and wheel cylinders but no hardware. I do have a drum set up from an XJ 44 which will go with it and should include all of the hardware needed but it will still need shoes. You could re-drill the 44 backing plates I suppose and run the 44's larger drums. The axle also comes with a home made skid plate which is very effective and well made. It keeps the lower lip of the diff from getting caught on stuff and also protects the rear cover from getting pealed open. $850

A stock 8.25 from a '00 about 150K miles. $100

If no one buys the 8.25 I have a D44 drum brake setup. Drums are fairly new. $75

So after a few tries he sent me a new tail housing and a special seal housing. The seal housing uses two seals and if I'm not mistaken is an older 231 style. Once I installed that I've never had another leak. This is not a hack and tap but a full SYE with a machined output shaft. It also doesn't leak like most 242 SYE's. The t-case is fairly new to me and had about 70K on it when I got it. It likely has less than 80K on it now. $400

P.S. if you are replacing a 231 I can supply you with a 242 shift gate for the shift selector.

I also have a '00 XJ for parts and can pull anything you may need if I have time. The things not available are,

harness forward of the firewall
glass from rear door back


This Jeep was hit in the front and the guy I got it from took the engine, ECU, and harness for his CJ. Most everything else is available except the stuff I wanted, which is the tinted glass, doors, steering wheel (though the column is still there), etc. Also the airbags deployed so none of that is any good. I do have the trans and the t-case which is a 231.

Couple things I just found while cleaning out the garage.

I have a pair of 97+ tail lights (candied turn signals, so they are all red with white reverse lights) $20.00

I have the wiring for these lights passenger and driver side. These work well if you are planning on setting up LED lights, you can splice up this set on the workbench without having to remove your existing harness until you're ready. $5.00

I have a beige headliner out of a 97+, headliner is relatively clean, no sagging at all. And the integrated sound bar for the rear is still intact WITH speakers. Just trying to get out of it what i paid. $15.00

I have my stock blue front bumper (97+) $10.00

Finally I have a stainless Borla exhaust off of a newer Ford Explorer. It has a 2.5" inlet, 2.5" dual exit. $10.00

All proceeds will go directly to the WF raffle.

All prices are negotiable, beer is a welcome subsitute for cash :D

Forgot to mention,

D30 has new calipers and pads as well as newer ball joints. The Steering could use new heims though.

The 8.25 has 29 spline shafts.

Also, the actual doors are not available but and of the door internals and door panels are. The interior color is dark gray.
