Think of it as something like "unconventional thoughts for unconventional thinkers." No particular integrating topic - I just write about whatever I feel like writing about at that time...

Quick google search brought up something about the kennedy assasination, a book, a movie called "They Live!", and revealed that the are hidden messages?
No bonus points for me, i cheated.

The real issue I see with poly- type marriages/relationships is a huge opening for jealousy and a lack of commitment or "fairness" or something... I dunno. I guess I'm just not wired for it. I say do whatever works, so long as it doesn't result in a mess. I also fully agree that marriage should not be a governmental thing and should have no bearing on taxes.
EDIT: also, adding to the list of blogs I follow... I have a blog but almost never post to it.

Fnord is the typographic representation of disinformation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinformation) or irrelevant information intending to misdirect, with the implication of a worldwide conspiracy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conspiracy_theory). The word was coined as a nonsensical term with religious undertones in the Discordian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discordianism) religious text (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_text) Principia Discordia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principia_Discordia) (1965) by Kerry Thornley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerry_Thornley) and Greg Hill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregory_Hill_(writer)), but was popularized by The Illuminatus! Trilogy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Illuminatus!_Trilogy) (1975) of satirical (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satire) conspiracy fiction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conspiracy_fiction) novels by Robert Shea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Shea) and Robert Anton Wilson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Anton_Wilson).
Jon since when are you into disinformation???

I can't see polygamous marriages working out at all. Emotions override logic in this area and wouldn't allow it as long as people involve "love" with marriage.

I actually know some people who make it work, and like it. More power to em, I just can't see it working for me.

Precisely the point of the last blog post - it's not for everyone, it wouldn't be mandatory, but there's no reason it can't be an option for anyone who at least wants to try it!
We've lost a lot with losing the "local extended family," primarily in terms of mutual support for the adults.
However, that's not the main point of my letting everyone know about the blog - the point is that I'm trying to put something out there to provoke thought, independent thought (and, hopefully, rational discussion,) and I wanted to let people know about it. Egoist? Perhaps. But, it allows me to reach far more people than I would normally be able to otherwise.
WRT polyamoury - the race as a whole isn't wired for it, to be sure. But, there are enough people out there who probably are that it should be an option - without the ostracism of the Church getting involved, or the asinine regulation of government. I'm taking the idea of "non-traditional marriage" (starting with homosexual marriage) to it's logical - if slightly absurd - conclusion, and maybe some people can make it work?
All I'm really trying to do is hold a camera up to the world ans I see it and share the pictures I take - and hope that it can generate some more independent thought (as opposed to the "party line" thinking I usually encounter out here. California styles itself as full of "rugged individualists," but they're probably the worst domestic example of groupthink I've ever seen...)
Polyamory isn't the only point there - I'm sure I'm going to cover an awful lot more. I just wanted to get more people involved in the discussion, and hopefully we can start coming up with presentable ideas...

I'm essentially a Libertarian at heart, so give it some time. I usually write these things in Notepad as they crystallise, then move them to the blog when I feel like they're "done enough" for discussion...

Well, I think the government has no business being in the marriage business.
Government should have civil unions. You want government recognition of your status, get a civil union at the court house--no ceremony, just swear to it and sign the papers.
You want recognition of your status by your religion, get a marriage performed in accordance with your beliefs.
You want the blessing of your religious peers, and the benefits of recognition of your status by the government, then get both a religious marriage ceremony and a civil union. Two different acts, two different issues.
Separation of church and state.
