Prefer them to not be broken or rusty, but I can work with anything.

Non rusty, non broken flare retainers? Ive never even heard of such parts existing...

Check q-tec. Last I checked they had them for the 84-96 XJ. NOT sure how different, if at all the brackets are. The centers are all the same, but the fore/aft at each corner is different. Or something like that.

Also...with some metal from lowes/depot and some screws you can probably make your own that would work fine...if you cant find what you need.

Sweet, when do you want to come over and help with that? You're a good guy, no matter what the others say about you.

I just pulled a set off an '01 for myself last week - somehow I was blessed and all the nuts came off without issue except one.

Jordan - I'll see if there are any good ones still here

97+ are way different from pre-97. I can dig the OEM part numbers up for you if you end up needing them, various mopar resellers have them for about 20 bucks a whack so I'd go with the "grind out broken/rusty stubs and tack in some new hardware" route.

There is an easier way, without re-using those rusty brackets. Just make studs with 1/4" stainless steel hardware. Although I am not sure if I want to mention "studs" around you... given your sudden interest in my "rear".....:roflmao::roflmao::spin3:

Haha...i was typing something in that thread about his "rear" comment...but decided I better not.

I was going to suggest popping in new bolts if you find a rusty set with busted studs. Andy's welder SHOULD be able to handle tacking new bolts in :)

This is rediculous! I ask one simple question, and all you knuckle-heads de-rail my thread. This happens all the time. Nobody can stay on topic.

What are you crying about...? Each post had useful info at least... so far. Each smart ass comment was prefaced by advice... What more do you want? haha.

P.S. Ill be at my parents house tomorrow working on my Jeep from about noon til the evening. If you find an old set of brackets, with broken studs or whatever, and bring me some new hardware, Ill zap the new bolts in for you. I know you probably wont have something by then...just offering.

I don't honestly know what color they are, but they are the metal brackets that attach to the fenders, and then the flares attach to them.
