Idle Vibration

When i purchased my XJ, I noticed at idle, the engine would sort of resonate and vibrate the entire car. It is much more pronounced with the A/C on, and goes away completely upon acceleration. Any ideas?

Check all three mounts: both motor mounts and tranny mount. After checking those, check that the exhaust is isolated by rubber mounts and not hitting the body anywhere.

x2, check the mounts, and examine the harmonic balancer for deterioration and shifting.
