Well, not a new member, but a new poster.. But there is prime canidate for an MJ truggy headed my way, and I was wondering the details about back-halfing at the cab and plating the unibody for a quarter elip spring mount out of the frame rail. Any details and pics would be appriciated. I've done plenty of non unibody tube-backs, but not like this.

Now, BIGWOODY,
What were those leaves from? I"ve heard about using wagoneers I think.

Are there any threads about making the rear suspension the way you have it with the leaf springs turned up-side down like that? I want to fire a Dana 60 in my XJ with a four link and I like the way yours set up.

are the leaf packs just pushed into the box area, or are they bolted/welded in place?

did you have to build a box or something to keep them all in place? did you use the stock centering bolt?

If you search around you will find more information on this. From what I remember, he bolted a short piece of the main leaf in there with the front bushing in it so the whole pack will pivot down on the front bushing. The Box area is above the main part of the spring that sees force. I'm not 100 percent sure how he is keeping the leaves together. It looks like a box around the leaves and then there are probably one or two center bolts holding the springs in the box. Jeff
