Anybody have a pair of Rubicon Express lower control arm bushings laying around? Mine are shot. Completely torn up and they're only six months old. RE will warranty them and ship me new ones free, but Hump N Bump is this coming Friday and RE is out of stock from the factory and new shipments aren't expected for 2-3 weeks.

Without new bushings, I can't wheel. Just look at these:

If you have a pair, and can them shipped out over night air, please email me at shamu613@gmail.com.

I posted the details about my issues in the For Sale forum, http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1013477 but I thought I would ask if anybody has a spare Rubicon Express newer style (hourglass shaped) laying around? Or might know of a retailer that does indeed have one in stock?

Andy, I have two brand new ones in my garage that were going to be used. You can have em if you can send me replacements later on

MIT in El Cajon has them in stock. That where I got mine. Very reasonable and I'm sure they would ship. If not let me know and I'll go by there Monday and buy them and ship them to you.

Thanks for the offers guys. One of the local Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers suggested using a universal fit polyurethane bushing from Energy Suspensions (http://www.energysuspension.com/search-result-details.html?id=2676&make=&year=&model=&partNumSearch=9.9485G). 4Wheel Parts got it over night at no additional shipping charge. The same club member who suggested it torn up three sets of Rubicon Express bushings over the past year. After the third set he knew he had to try something different and tried the poly bushings with good success. He has been waiting for two months for Rubicon Express to warranty his last set so I wasn't sure if any of the bushings you guys were so generous to offer up were good or may still be brittle and subject to tearing. After all, I only wheeled six days after completely rebuilding all the control arms.

Something has to be really off in their manufacturing process to produce a bushing that turns to this after six days.

Since I have no way of identifying whether or not a particular set of bushings was from the same bad batch, I didn't want to chance installing another bad set or taking away a good set from somebody only to replace it with an unknown quality. Rubicon Express makes a good product, but wherever they are getting their bushings is letting us all down.

I do appreciate your help and offers.

Maybe, but at least I'll be wheeling this weekend.

Insane pics. I'm running the same rubber bushings on the frame end that the control arms came with years and years ago. They even came off of Dave Taylor's rig. Guess they don't make em like they use to. These things must have at least 8+ years of hard wheeling on them.

I had to buy some poly bushings from 4wheel parts too for a set of lowers i was given. I cant remember the part number but they were about 17 bucks a box. Just measure the inner diameter of the tube and also the sleeve and figure out what you need. Hope you get it taken care of. :)

ya my fixed lowers looked close to that bad but not as ripped - they were on for 5 months! the cluck was so bad that in reverse a slight tap on the brake and it felt like the front end was falling off! i got some replacements but got a set of RC new flex arms for the lowers with the poly bushing which is much more durable than the soft rubber of the RE bushings... must have been a bad batch!

yeah i am reading all over the internet that RE had a huge bad batch of bushings go out not too long ago.
