Anyone planning on coming south on I-40 for the next 3 mounths needs to take a detour.

X2 that was my first thoughts.
What I found kind of funny was when I watched the video, the ad at the first was for Limestone Collage.

This used to happen all the time in East Tenn area. Usually there'd be a bus-sized boulder in the middle of the road with cars and trucks squished against it (pretty much instadeath for the occupants).
The interstate there is split 1/4 mile wide, they just knock the remaining side into one-lane and divert traffic while they replace the closed one. In the video there it looks like the interstate is almost joined together.

How would you even know if there were cars under there? There is a literal mountain on top of them...
Maybe in a month or two they will uncover the road to find a vehicle under there. It could happen...

at least the road is still there. I remember a few years ago when US321 washed away just short of Boone, NC.

I think I can one up that.
We had a truck loaded full of explosives blow up on US-6 between SLC and Moab a few years ago.
He vaporized the road.

I can't remember what it was called. It was a whole trailer full of high explosives. It rolled, caught on fire and then blew up. Amazingly no one was seriously hurt. I saw a video of the explosion from a camcorder in a car about a 1/4 mile away and it was damn impressive.

I looked and couldn't find it. It was on the news.
Yeah driver and his co-driver walked away. It didn't blow up right away. It was several minutes...maybe a half hour after the wreck that it blew up.

Ryan fails to mention that the highway got blown up again, what, two months later?
I suggest not driving that highway if your load is in any way combustible, it's cursed! :firedevil

If your load's combustible, quit eating flammable food!!

that crater is crazy! Closest thing i've got is when a tractor-trailer wrecked between two parts of the northbound part of I-75 a few years back and exploded....nothing NEAR that though!

The second time it didn't really blow up. A gas tanker rolled and burned. They had to repave...right over where they just repaved(it was within 20 feet of the explosion) but it didn't blow up.
