On my '85, the four lines are different colors: White, yellow, green blue.

I would just cut out the damaged sections and splice with black rubber vac tubing.
Doesn't matter where each goes, just splice like-to-like.

Or am I missing something?

Check out this site. I did a similar conversion on mine using a different type 3-way vac switch that can be found at an HVAC supplier. There is a schematic here that will help you route new vac lines, I used rubber vacuum tube and wrapped it with flex loom wherever it might rub on something.

call me cheep but all I did was remove the disconnect housing and removed the shift fork rail and replace it with a bolt, washers and a nut. this makes the collar permanently in the 4wd mode, basically like a 95+ XJ with the solid axle on the pass. side. works well and is basically free. be sure to use copious amounts of silicone to seal the ends where the bolt sticks out, good luck!
