HELP! Installing Lift.

I'm putting a lift on my 91 Larado with 242.
I got the front of both the leafs bolted in and passenger side of the axle loosely bolted to the leaf. But I can't get the driver side to bolt up. The driveshaft seems to have NO play or slip at the TC to allow the axle come back far enough.
Any Advice?

Take the drive shaft out.

Ron

But will it go back in? Shouldn't there be some front to back play in the driveshaft for the rear flexing AND removing the DS?

Its not the driveshaft,it will just fall out!

I can understand removing the driveshaft to get the axle mounted to the leaf springs.
But if there is no play at the yokes at the TC or the diff how do you get the driveshaft back in and will it be long enough?

The DS has a splined slip yoke to allow for suspension movement.

disconnect the DS from the rear pinion yoke, mount your axle housing, and yes, the DS will go back on.

No the transfercase has the splined slip yoke not the driveshaft

NO,the driveshaft has a splined slip-yoke,the transfer case output shaft has splines!
