Hello, I have an 89 xj that had a np242 in it. I am swapping a np231 from a wrangler and have run into a snag. The front output yoke on the 231 is for a non cv driveshaft. the cv yoke from the 242 has a bigger diameter output shaft with 32 splines and the 231 has a smaller diameter shaft with 26 splines. I have also heard that the 231's from a wrangler are positioned 10 degrees clockwise compared to 231's from an xj. any advice would be appriciated.

Get a yoke from a 231.The clocking is done at the adapter so it wont be an issue!

Basically,YJ's dont use the AW4 though, but the T-Case is the same!
