Hi all, new poster, long time lurker here on the boards, and was hoping that you could help me with a purchace question.

I have recently gotten into the market for a used XJ. It will be a daily driver (on and off, have another vehicle to use too) and an easy to moderate trail rig. I got the off roading bug, and I think this is the cure.

It's a 1995 XJ Sport 2 door, 213,000 Kilometers, one owner, with only a hint of rust on the driver's door. Please excuse the crappy cellphone pics, but idiotstick here forgot to bring his camera:

Also, being relatively unfamiliar with Jeeps, the shift stalk for the 4 wheel drive system went as follows and showed the corresponding lights on the dash when engaged:

- 2WD (no light)
- 4WD (part time) ("Part Time")
- 4WD (full time) (icon of trans case and 4 wheels)
- Neutral (no light)
- 4Lo ("Part Time")

Does everything seem to be in order and working correclty? I was able to put the vehicle into all gears and the vehicle drove normally without any problems.

Thanks for the input!

Meddie

Sounds like it is working right (the 4wd settings)

Mine says "full time" instead of the icon, but it is basically the same.

I can't tell you whether the front hubs locked in or not from your description, but at least the transfer case indicates that it did.

Looks pretty nice. All dpends on the price and other amenities.

No locking hubs, and a 95 doesn't have a disco front end. Don't worry about 4wd indication lights, Worry about wether or not it works. Best place to test is on a gravel road.

NP242 Auto Trans, $4000 CDN, looks like full load minus leather, sunroof, and wheels.
