What is this? Passenger floor board???

Noticed the passenger side windshield seal looked funny. Pulled carpet back to check for wetness. The top of carpet was a little wet, but the carpet in general, wasn't soaked. Then I noticed this silver looking patch. Is this normal or did PO patch a hole?

looks like a patch to me. Directly below that are the transmission crossmember bolts, which were prob. replaced, then the patch placed

Looks like a patch to me (not sure), look from under the XJ, can you see the aluminum sheeting through any holes?

Hallo. You can replace it with a piece of glass, like a glassboat. (joke)
But I think there was a problem with corrosion of the floorpan. :wave1:

Well, if it is a patch, it is a rather nice one, I guess. So far, from what I have seen, my floor boards look to be in decent shape. May pull the carpet this spring and herculine it. Gotta find that leak first...

IIRC its not a patch. Its a bit of heat/sound insulation from the factory.

yea its factory mine has it too on the drivers side though

the only thing I would say is that its a heat shield for the converter...
