I have just ordered a 62mm throttle body for my 01' xj 4.0 and i really have never done any work with the throttle body before other than put a TB spacer in. If anyone know of any videos or step by step instructions that i could use to replace my TB taht would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks A lot

If you can put a spacer on, I'm sure you can put a new tb on. It's just a matter of changing the cables and wires over. That's it. It's a piece of cake.

The only words of advice I can offer you is to make sure you don't over tighten the bolts to the tb. They will strip faster than nightclub girl after getting a 50.

thanks alot j99xj for the info i will deff be sure to not over tighten those bolts!! but i was looking at my TB earlier and notice the the cables look like they are almost riveted onto the tb but im not sure exactly how to get them off!!

They lock in with a crimp connection. Use a plier and pull the little ball out of the crimp and it comes free easily. Then it just snaps back in. Clean your IAC and TPS carefully, they are delicate and NOT cheap!

Biggest problem you are likley to have is removing the bolts that hold the sensors on the TB.They are Torex bolts and are usually tight and corroded.

I know lots of people have had problems buying from this guy, but he does have an install video for a throttle body. http://www.xj-armor.com/video/install_vid.htm

Really, what problems have lots of people had? Not saying not true, just wondering. Making that statement here requires some "validation."
I'm not the type of guy who would say something like that unless it was true.

How about these threads for starters:

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60056
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58918

Then you might try looking him up on eBay his username was scarrot, but he is No longer a registered user. In the begining he had lots of good responses. Then one day he just seemed to drop off the map and stop responding.

Also check out the BBB: http://www.goldengatebbb.org/commonreport.html?bid=74403

I personally had good experience with him the two times I bought from him, but he is EXTREMELY hard to get ahold of.

Is that enough "validation" for you?

the general consensus is that it's kind of a pita to get ahold of the proprietor. i emailed him a couple times about some stuff on his site, and never received any reply. his products are all really nice(the ones that i have personally seen), he just seems to be really difficult to buy from.
