What happened to that axle in the last few pics??

THe craziest thing I have ever seen. The plug welds gave way and the center section spun up. We were almost at the end of Holcomb Creek trail, so luckily we strapped him up the final hill and he drove home in front wheel drive.

I wasn't there, but it looks like the mounts weren't welded to the axle tube and it rotated?

Edit...upon closer inspection of the pic, I see that the Center section is the only part that rotated...Time to get it retubed. Makes me wonder if mine is gonna do that someday?

You should have been there, it was a blast. I just wished I could have stayed overnight and ran on Sunday.

That happens way too often than you would think.

Aaron (99xjache (http://www.naxja.org/forum/member.php?u=10201) ) did that to a Sterling 10.5" a month ago.

Hey now! haha Gold Mountain, John Bull was great. Johnny, Kyoung and I tried a hard line right at the bottom of John Bull and it was to the left instead of going to the right and all of us didn't make it. Johnny and I had to back out of it and kyoung high centered on the rails and drive shaft had to pull him off. Was a long day. wish you could have went Robert. I will post some pics in a few.

The boys and I had a great time. But I haven’t decided if it was heaven with spurts of hell or Pure Hell with moments of complete bliss… this may give you an idea of what it’s like with a 3 year old in a Jeep from 9 to 5…

replace mt. splashmore with play in the dirt and his no with a yes answer…

the fun parts were the driving and watching them play when we stopped. It was nice meeting a lot of you for the first time. And good to see familiar faces again… Not sure what you did Ken but you have reached legend status with my boys… all day it was “Where’s Ken?” - “He’s right there guys” “I see him! Daddy, there’s Ken!” “Yes, I see him”

I took a few pics… A lot of them are of the boys… but I think I got pics of everyone…

Thanks Ken! That's funny. I didn't know you had a camera with you, much less the time to snap off a few shots. Your boys are awesome! I need to bring my son so they can play, but we may have a hard time getting them back in the Jeeps.

LOL....

You will have a chance real soon.... The axles will be here tomorrow for the TJ. Then it's install time, driveshafts, motor mounts, tightened everything, add/acheck fluids, then test time. After a couple of weeks of street driving.....

I am figuring late Nov or early Dec for the maiden voyage of the TJ... of course it will be in Big Bear.

We had a great weekend.
Robert, Thanks for getting everyone together it was a great group as usuall. I'll try to get a few photos up soon.
Ken, It was fun to hang out with your kids. They are a lot of fun. It's always good to have a few extra Ken's around...

As for JV, a couple of us are talking about running in Big Bear that Sat, then taking a trail down the mountain and meeting up for the dinner and raffle.

Anyone interested? I talked to Richard G about it and he siad he is fine with it, but I told him I repect him to much to post this on the JV thread.

I just don't think I want to my rig in JV.

Me too!!! I hope to get up there in about 3 weeks. I have to get the TJ done, then we need to go test it out. I will post up the dates. I will wnat t small group as I will be introducing my wife to wheeling and we will be taking it easy with the TJ. I will have my XJ and she will have her TJ.
