I was cleaning my 1/2 of the garage this morning to see if I could put the car I drive to work in since it is starting to frost.
Anyway, my son comes home while I am in the garage.
He is 18 and is not here much anymore.
He tells me that his car made a funny noise today and now it dosn't stop well.
I told him to grab a broom and we will get it in the garage to see wht the problem is.
I supervised, it is time he learned this stuff....
He got the front end apart, this is what we found.:scared:

Well I can see why!
The caliper on the drivers side has frozen up, had to been like that for months!
It wore the outboard side of the rotor so thin that is broke in two!

Looks like it will be a few days before I can put MY car in the garage!

I drove the "fall off the trailer"-mobile back and forth from work every day for a week and a 1/2!
Now JR. gets to drive it untill this is fixed.
So bite me GS Guy....

The rotors on my XJ did that, one of the composite ones I think it was, they had a recall on them. Put on new pads and hit the breaks, made a hell of a grinding sound, and found the exact same thing on one side, and a mostly seperated one on the other.

I think I'm going to get the two piece rotors and some imagi links for the front suspension.

The continuous grinding noise didn't give it away for him Sean?

That's pretty cool looking actually. Never seen one worn through.

Tell me it wasn't broken like that when he drove it over? It came apart after removal!

My six year old was out welding with me last week. He put on the helmet and handed me the face shield. I was so proud.j

Work part time at O'Reilly's and I've seen people bring them in with fins showing asking if they can still use them. Amazing.
